• Device and log data — IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs.
• Cookies — session cookies for authentication and preference cookies to remember your settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To analyze your essays and generate AI-powered feedback.

We do not use your essay content to train AI models, sell your data to advertisers, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

• Service providers — Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), and AI providers (essay analysis). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
• Legal compliance — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Rewritn or others.
• Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and essay history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g., payment records). Essay content submitted by free users may be deleted after 90 days of inactivity.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, row-level security on our database, and strict access controls. While we take security seriously, no system is completely immune to breaches. We will notify you promptly if a breach affects your data.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (to keep you logged in) and functional cookies to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to use the Service.

Rewritn is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it promptly.
